To all Lambert, Whiteman AFB and Det 1 men and women - my friends:

I cannot believe it's time to retire. As most of you know, I started counting down 24 months ago...and here it is - 3 and a half days to go.

My last duty day here is Feb. 5.  We are having a luncheon that day and I hope you all can make it.

Thank you for the fond memories, for it has been wonderful working with all of you over the past years.  I will miss you all terribly, think of you often and I promise to visit from time to time.

I received my puppy, "Chief", last week from Logistics Readiness Squadron and he is great! Thanks to everyone who gave a donation toward the pup fund and wine basket raffle...the proceeds bought the puppy.

I leave you with a few words of wisdom...

-Be proud of our heritage as Guardsmen and women.
-Perform your best, look your best, act your best, strive to be the best. Always.
-Be great Wingmen and look out for one another.
-Be accountable, be forgiving, be patient, be involved.

It's who we are.

Thank you for being a part of my successful military career.  I could not have done it without each of you.

Lead on!
