SSgt. John Cavanaugh received the Diamond Sharp Award December 2008

Staff Sgt. John Cavanaugh, 571st Band of the Central States musician, was awarded the Diamond Sharp Award December UTA by Master Sgt. Jeffrey Strahlem, 571st Band of the Central States 1st Sergeant. Sergeant Cavanaugh was chosen for this award due to his design and implementation of the new sound system for band performances and acting as the unit deployment manager through deployments to the Middle East and South America. The Diamond Sharp Award is an award given by 1st Sergeants to honor Airmen for their outstanding overall performance. (Photo by Master Sgt. Mary-Dale Amison)
