Major Efrem Rivers was awarded the Department of Defense African American History Month Recognition Award at the Alabama Agriculture and Mechanical University in Normal, Alabama, Feb. 26. Major Rivers was recognized for his actions during the Global War on Terrorism, where he recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan in early February.
