Phantom II continues its proud vigil days after tornado hits 131st Bomb Wing at Lambert Air National Guard Base
An F-4E Phantom II Legacy aircraft from the era when the 131st Bomb Wing was designated the 131st Tactical Fighter Wing, continues to “soar” proudly, April 26, just days after a category EF4 tornado swept across the Lambert-Saint Louis Air National Guard Base, April 22. No injuries were reported to Air National Guard personnel, but there was widespread damage across the south-side of the base. Estimates for repair to the base could top 10 million U.S. dollars. Cleanup efforts at the base are ongoing. (Photo by Master Sgt. Mary-Dale Amison)
