Lt. Col. Eaves assumes command of 110th BS

Whiteman AFB --  Lt. Col. Kenneth "Willie B" Eaves, former 131st Fighter Wing chief of plans and programs and total force integration officer, assumed command of the 110th Bomb Squadron in a ceremony held at Whiteman AFB, Nov. 7.

"This Assumption of Command marks the beginning of the 110th Bomb Squadron and with that comes a tremendous opportunity for all involved," said Lt. Col. Mike "Tiny" Francis, 131st Operations Group commander. "I'll give you one simple rule, build the best."

Col. Robert Leeker, 131st Bomb Wing commander, added, "What you do today, how you lead, will lay the foundation for the 110th [Bomb Squadron]."

Colonel Leeker explained, this Assumption of Command was the first of many for the 131st Bomb Wing at Whiteman, and it will stand as the basis of the B-2 mission.

"You have the tough job," said Colonel Eaves to the members of the 110th BS, "you have far exceeded my expectations, and I ask you not to let up."

Colonel Eaves was among the first of the Missouri Air National Guard pilots to transition from the F-15 Eagle to the B-2 Spirit, recently graduating from the B-2 qualification course.

In addition, Colonel Eaves attended the Air Force's F-15 Weapons Instructor Course in 2000 and served as the 131st Fighter Wing chief of weapons and tactics. He later served at the 131st FW chief of safety, as well as, chief of safety for Task Force Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina.

"I am very honored and more important very humbled," concluded Colonel Eaves on becoming the 110th BS commander.
