131BW Wing Commander's Welcome 131st BOMB WING COMMANDER'S WELCOME On behalf of the men and women of the 131st Bomb Wing, I welcome you to the home of the only Air National Guard B-2 wing in the nation. We have a proud and rich heritage as members of the Missouri Air National Guard, celebrating nearly 90 years of service to our community, state and nation. Our 131st Bomb Wing team consists of approximately 1,100 proud, professional men and women who embody the highest attributes of American patriotism and stand ready to serve in both state and federal missions. Their dedication and commitment to service, combined with the support of spouses, families and civilian employers, yields a winning formula for mission success. The Citizen-Airman is crucial in today's military structure and will become even more so in the future. As we move forward, the role of the 131 BW, as a member of the Total Force, will become increasingly important. Our 21st Century Air Force is smaller than in the past, yet we will continue to be tasked more often. The Air Force cannot meet these taskings without the support of the Air National Guard.
