Guard members honor popular USO employee Published March 4, 2008 By Cap Bridgeton Zorn 131FW Feb 6, 2008 -- Members of the 131st Fighter Wing bid farewell to a USO employee and dear friend in an informal gathering on Lambert IAP January 31. Mrs. Melainie Davidson recently retired from her position as USO Director of Satellite Operations. Best known for her efforts with the mobile USO, Davidson has worked closely with many Missouri ANG personnel while coordinating wing picnics, open houses, Airman for a Day programs, and various other events over the years. "We've really appreciated all the outstanding support the USO has provided us through the years. Melainie's energy and dedication will be missed," said Colonel Robert Leeker, 131st FW Commander. "Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving you and your troops. My hope is that you will continue to schedule the Mobile USO so the volunteers can bring the USO hospitality and services to the Troops throughout Missouri and Southern Illinois," Davidson said to her military friends. "Working at the USO as the Director of Satellite Operations, scheduling the Mobile USO has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done."
